How Secure Is Your Password?

It has become very easy for the hackers to hack your password.
Do u know how secure and strong ur password is?
Now-a-days using advanced algorithms developed it is very easy to hack your password within hours. Hours is not a big time. Expect ur password is hacked and the hacker is logged into ur account and been playing with ur account. He can even get u caught to the police doing some disguisting things with ur account.
So its very important to secure ur password. It is easy only when ur password is strong.

Check how strong is ur password here

http://howsecureismypassword.net/ is providing a free service to check how strong is ur password and we can also see how much time will it take to break ur password

How to choose a good and strong password.
  •  Use at least eight characters.
  •  Use number and special characters like , . / ] [. This is the best thing which makes ur password very much stronger.
  •  Don't use a word found in a dictionary, English or foreign.
And one more important thing is dont share ur password with anyone. ANYONE. I mean it. When u are logging into site in ur friends computer dont tell him ur password. He may be ur friend but NO NO NO.
And latest browsers come with an option to save ur password for further simpler log ins. Don't do it.

Big Movies But size of 700 mb. How?

I have seen many people asking this in many forums over and over, how to back up the DVDs by making Smaller DVD rips ??
Its pretty simple though, one may archive great quality DVD RIPs with available free tools. I would try to list a tutorial on it from start to end how to do it…

Software Requirements:

1. Windows OS (2000_sp4 or adobe)
2. DVD Dycripter (Free) — Download Here
3. AutoGK (Free) — Download here

Hardware Requirements:
1. DVD ROM
2. 10 GB Free HDD Space with NTFS Partition
3. A Fast Computer….in the sense at least 1 GB of RAM and minimum of dual core processor so that u wont have to wait till the eggs hatch.

The Process
We will use DVD Dycripter to rip a DVD 5 or DVD 9 in a single VOB File… If you look in the DVD file structure you may find for one movie there number file (VOB 0.99GB) in sequence… So the idea is use this software to create one single large VOB for encodning
Start the DVD Dycripter….
In the Main window change the MOD to IFO

Now I assume you have the DVD which you want to rip, in you DVD ROM, the picture now would look like this one, above…
This Bellow Step you may Skip, its for advance usage only if you have problem then prefer here….

————————– Advance Step ——————————–
Now go to Settings, and do the followings,
In TAB File Mode Set option File Splitting to None
Settings
Move to next TAB, IFO MODE , and set the option File Splitting to None

Once again to next ISO Read Mode and set the option File Splitting to None

This will allow you to receive one single large VOB file… around 4 GB for DVD 5 and around 7.5 GB for a DVD 9…
Next step will make sure that DVD Dycripter doesn’t force re-read for the Damage DVD Sectors…. This helps greatly up to 20 times faster when you get stuck with a DVD which comes with Read Error….
Go to TAB I/O and set the option for Read and Write error retried to 0, also Check on the Box says, Ignore Read Errors…

You are done with advance Settings of the DVD Dycripter !!!! Now we may proceed to dycript the DVD….
————————– End of Advance Settings —————————
Select the PPG in the Input box which is the longer in time format, and then Select the place where you want your File to go, (make sure its one NTFS Partition with atleast 10 GB space in it) and Hit the button to Dycript….
It will start Coping Data to your HDD, usually with good DVD media it takes around 15 mins !!!!
Once you are done, fire up the AutoGK …..
Now Browse from the Input Box to select the file which you just have copied using DVD Dypripter… Then Select the Size you want 1 CD or 2 CD, for Good quality which you want to view in 19″ Screens I would say Select 2 CD !!! how ever 700 MB too will just work out fine tooo !!!
Now Please click on Advance Settings… and in the Advance TAB, Select Codec as xvid and Resolution to auto Width and Audio Type to VBR MP3 128kbps !!!!
Now at the Main AutoGK Window, Click add job and the Hit start Button… Thats it… Auto GK will do the rest for you…

If you can't see Hidden files/folders in your computer, even after enabling the option "Show hidden files/folders" in (Tools -> Folder Options), then its automatically disabled again.

Here are two tricks to Unhide it:

Solution 1:
=========

1) Start -> Run and type "regedit" without the quotes and press OK.

2) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

3) In right-side pane, change value of "Hidden" to as following:

(1) - To show hidden file
(2) - To not show hidden files

Solution 2:
=========

1) Start -> Run and type "regedit" without the quotes and press OK.

2) Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folde r\Hidden\SHOWALL

3) Delete the value CheckedValue. (Its type should be REG_SZ and data should be 0 or 1.)

Create a new DWORD value called CheckedValue (same as above, except that the type is REG_DWORD) by right clicking on the right pane -> New -> DWORD Value. Modify the value data to 1 (0x00000001).

If it doesn't work, then surely there is a virus scan your pc with an anti-virus.

Many of us dont know how to download files using torrent client and sites so here is a quick tutorial.

1) First u need to download a torrent client. They are software which help you to download files from torrent sites the most popular ones are:

UTORRENT- DOWNLOAD

BITORRENT- DOWNLOAD

Both are good you can chose which you want install it.

2) Go to any torrent sites.
My favourites are: Piratebay, Mininova and Isohunt.

or you can just search on google - type the name of the file you want and just add "torrent" after the files name.

on the website you will find a tab named "download the torrent" or "download the torrent file" click on it and download it.

3) Open the file with your torrent client and wait till its 100% downloaded.

4) After its downloaded Right click -> Open ! Enjoy

NOTE :-
1> Always chose torrents with maximum numbers of seeds which are indicated on the site more the seeds more is the downloading speed.

2> Always read the comments posted by other down-loaders you can get very important information about the file you want to download.

3> When your download has completed 100%, you will become a seeder and start uploading for other users.

Simple Solutions to Common Windows Problems

Learn about some free software utilities that will help you fix the most common Windows problems. They are all compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

Fix Windows Problems with Free Tools

Q1. I am trying to delete a file from my desktop but the computer won’t let me do that. Instead, it throws me an error message saying that the file /folder is in use by another program or user.
A: You can either reboot your computer in Safe mode to delete that file or, if you want something more simple, get Unlocker. It’s a free utility that will let you close all the processes that have possibly locked the file and once they are closed, you can then safely delete the file.

Q2. I am trying to play a video file on my computer but the media player says that I am missing certain codecs.
A: You can use a tool like Video Inspector to determine which audio and video codecs are required to play the video file on your computer. Alternatively, you can download a codec package like the K-Lite Pack that will let you play virtually any audio and video format on your computer.

Q3. I am running out of disk space on my Windows computer. How can I remove all the unnecessary files from the computer and recover some disk space?
A: There are three things you can do here:
  • Open the Run box and type “cleanmgr” to open the built-in Disk Cleanup utility. It will remove all the temp files and the unnecessary system files that you no longer need.
  • Use WinDirStat to determine where all your disk space has gone. Sometimes files are hidden in sub-directories that you can safely move to other drives or even delete them permanently (more options).
  • Use Duplicate Cleaner to identify and delete all the duplicate files on your hard drives. You can move the duplicates to the recycle bin or, if you want to play safe, to any another folder from where they can be easily recovered.

Q4. My computer takes lot of time to boot-up. I checked the “start-up” folder in the Windows start menu and there aren’t any applications out there.

A: Type “msconfig” in the Run box to open the “System Configuration” tool and then switch to the “Start-up” tab. Disable all the programs that you don’t need to run during start-up. If you are a power user, you may also switch to the “Services” tab and disable all the unnecessary services.
Autoruns is another excellent utility that shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login.

Q5. I am trying to uninstall a program from my computer but the standard add-remove programs is not letting me through.

A: You can use the free Revo Uninstaller utility to remove every single trace of any program from your computer. Revo can also remove entries from the Windows Registry that may have been left by previous un-installation routines.

Q6. My Windows crashed with a “Blue Screen.” Why?

A: You really need to get in touch with a geek to debug the cryptic Blue Screen errors (aka “Blue Screen of Death”) but if you are lucky, a free utility called BlueScreenView can provide vital clues. Blue Screen View will scan the Windows dump files to determine the device drivers that possibly caused the crash.

Q7. It takes ages to copy files in Windows from one folder to another. The situation is marginally better in Windows 7 (over Vista) but still, is there a way to copy files faster?

A: You can use an external file copying utility like TeraCopy or even RichCopy – they’ll not only copy /move files across drives faster but you can also resume broken file transfers (similiar to FTP operations).

Q8. I think I deleted a file by mistake. Can I recover it?

A: Recuva is a free software that will scan your hard drives, USB stick and other external drives for any deleted files that it can possibly recover. It may not work in all cases especially when you securely deleted a file.

Q9. Every time I copy something new to the Windows clipboard, the previous content gets erased. Can I make it permanent?

A: You can use Ditto, a free utility that sort-of adds memory to your Windows Clipboard. You can copy anything to the clipboard and it will stay there as long as you want.

Q10. How do I protect files and folders on my computer?

A: While there are free tools like Hide Folder that let you easily protect files and folders with a password, use TrueCrypt if you want a more secure solution. The obvious downside with a program like TrueCrypt is that if you forget the password, it is nearly impossible to retrieve the protected files.

Things you donot know - VLC media player can do

For most people, VLC is the favorite media player because it plays everything they throw at it without hiccups. No hunting for codec. But VLC can do a lot of other things as well. Find out how many of these listed below you knew, and how many you did not.

1. Rip DVDs: VLC includes a basic DVD ripper. You probably would never use it when there are better DVD rippers available, but it helps to know that you can in fact, get a decent quality DVD rip with VLC. To rip a movie follow these steps: Go to the Media menu and choose Convert/Save. Click on the Disc tab.

* Here you can adjust the Starting Position and rip only specific titles or chapters.
* Enter file name making sure to end with .MPG, and start ripping.
* Click Save.

2. Record videos: With the new VLC, you can record videos during playback. The record button is hidden by default. To see it, click on View>Advanced Control. The record button will now appear. Clicking on the button while playing a movie or video will start recording. Clicking again will stop recording.

3. Play RAR files: Do you know VLC can play videos zipped inside RAR files? They play like normal video files and you can even use the seek bar. If the RAR file is split into several files, no problem. Just load the first part (.part001.rar ) and it will automatically take the rest of the parts and play the whole file.

4. Play in ASCII mode: VLC media player has an amusing ability, to playback movies in ASCII art. To enable ASCII mode, open VLC media player and click on Tools>Preferences. Open the section “Video” section and under “Output” select “Color ASCII art video output” from the drop down menu. Save it. Now play any video file to enjoy the ASCII art.

5. Listen to online radio: VLC includes hundreds of Shoutcast radio stations. You just need to enable it through Media>Services Discovery>Shoutcast radio listings. Now, open the Playlist and browse through the stations.

6. Convert Audio and Video formats: In VLC you can convert video and audio files from one format to another. Several different formats are supported like MP4, WMV, AVI, OGG, MP3 etc. To access the converter:

* Go to Media>Convert/Save.
* Load the file you want to convert using the Add button and click Convert.
* Now choose the output format and output file location.

7. Download YouTube and other online videos: First grab the URL of the YouTube video page. Now click on Media>Open Network stream. Paste the URL and click Play.
Once VLC starts streaming the video, click Tools>Codec Information and at the bottom of the window you will see a Location box. Copy the URL and paste it on your browser’s address bar. The browser will now download the file which you can save it to your hard disk. Alternatively, you can record the video.

Download Videos From Youtube [Best Method]

Many of the users try to download videos from youtube. Downloading the videos can be beneficial in several ways including the option to play the video at any time without having to access the Youtube website on the Internet. It can also save bandwidth and be used to transfer the Youtube videos to devices like mobiles, media players or gaming systems that are usually not connected to the Internet or that do not offer the speed needed to enjoy the videos.

There are basically three ways of downloading Youtube videos:

All these methods have their distinct advantages and disadvantages. But, here comes the 4th method also known as 'OK' method. This is the easiest method you can implement to download videos from youtube. Just follow this simple trick :

To download video in FLV Format :
Just add 'OK' prefix to 'youtube' in the link.

To download video in 3GP Format :
Just add '3.OK' prefix to 'youtube' in the link.

To download video in MP4 Format :
Just add '4.OK' prefix to 'youtube' in the link.
After modifyingyour link just paste it in your browser and press enter. Now you can download and enjoy the videos. Any Queries ? Please Post your Comments.

Capture anything on your screen !

SnagIt screen capture program is more than just a replacement of your PrtScrn key – it can help you record destkop movies, leech websites, add image watermarks, extract text from dialogs and much more.

Use SnagIt to Make Short Movies (Screencasts)
SnagIt can record small desktop videos very easily. Select “Record a Video of the Screen” profile, draw a rectangle around the desktop area that you want to record and hit Print-Screen.

Capture Long Scrolling Webpages (both vertical and horizontal directions)
SnagIt can capture extremely long web pages that extend several pages (like a long conversation thread on Gmail). Under Input, select Scrolling >> Auto Scroll Window. Then open the Options window and specify the Scroll direction.

The Right File Format for Saving Screenshot Images
When you take a screen capture with SnagIt, it lets you save the graphic in different image formats. Here’s how I decide the extension of screenshot images:

(a) Use GIF when the screenshot has lot of text or it is taken from a movie (like a YouTube video).
(b) Use PNG (True Color) if the captured image is a photograph or when file size is not a constraint.
(c) Use JPG (Automatic Color) in all other cases.

Leech Images from any Website
SnagIt, like wget or Teleport, can help you download all images from a website. Say you are on this Vista Wallpapers page and want to download each of the image locally. Choose the “All Images from a Website”, set the parameters like link depth, file extension type, minimum file size, etc and click capture.

Capture and Extract Text from Dialog Windows
When we get an error message on Windows, we normally type that “text string” on Google to find the cause of error and how to fix it.With SnagIt, you can do a Text Capture using “Text from Window” profile so it automatically extracts the text out of the window without you having to type anything manually.

Activate the Burst Mode in SnagIt
SnagIt has a “burst” mode that you normally see in DSLR cameras. Under the “Output Properties”, set the “Automatic File Name” option and turn off “Preview”. Now when you hit the capture hotkey, the screenshot is automatically saved to the computer. And to simulate the Burst effect, keep clicking the hotkey at very short intervals.

Add Visible Watermarks to your Screen Capture Images
This is useful if you want to add your own branding to screen captures. From Images Tasks, select Watermark – you can embed either normal text or some image like a logo.

Use SnagIt Inside Firefox
Like Internet Explorer, TechSmith provides a Firefox extension for SnagIt that allows you to capture web content without leaving the browser. Get SnagIt for Firefox here or read help.

SnagIt Downloads
SnagIt is currently available for download. It is fully-functional and runs for 30 days after installation.

What Happens To The Deleted Data In Our System

Have u ever noticed what happens to the data u delete on Ur hard disk?
When we delete a file normally, it goes to the recycle bin and when we need the file again we can restore it.
But when we delete the file permanently and in case if u need the file again, what will u do?
Don't bother. U r not helpless.
We can even restore the files which we delete permanently.
What happens actually is when we delete a file the operating system does not delete the file from hard disk.
It just removes the link from the folder.
It still resides with in the system. The information about the deleted file and its contents are stored in a system folder called Recycler.
So when we need the file back we can use some specialized softwares like RECUVA and we can restore them.
But the worst case is , if there is no space in Ur hard disk during copying a new file into it, the data in the recycler is deleted for the new file to occupy its space.
This is the reason when we restore the file, we may not the get the complete contents of the file.

Dont Store Passwords in Browsers

The common thing we do is we store our password in firefox.
When we log in to a website firefox asks us to remember our password for that particular site so that u need not enter them again when u need to log in that particular site.
When u click on remember ur passwords are stored in a file

Your passwords are stored in two different files (in the Firefox user's "Profiles" folder), both of which are required:

* key3.db - This file stores your key database for your passwords. To transfer saved passwords you must copy this file along with one of the following files:
* signons.txt - Saved passwords in Firefox 2.0.0.0 and 2.0.0.1.
or signons2.txt - Saved passwords in Firefox 2.0.0.2 and above.

If u had stored password in ur browser ur password are insecure
Any hacker can access them
lol no need to go for a hacker
when ur friend is accessing ur computer he can even view ur password by opening
tools (menu) >Options > Security (tab) > Saved Password > Show Passwords

Thats it!!

Auto Shutdown Without Any Software

This is a cool post for u to shut down ur windows or restart it automatically
U need not install any software for it
Here is the procedure

Go to Start
Click Run
Type as below to shutdown at 6 O clock in the morning i.e. 6 am i.e. 06:00
at 06:00 shutdown -s
the timing u give here should be of 24 hours clock
for example if u want to shutdown at 8 in the night i.e 20:00 as in 24 hour's clock
at 03:14 shutdown -s

Try this.
This definitely works or else cut my throat.

Complete View On Graphic Card

When anyone ask u wats ur graphic card memory ?
Many of us put a blank face and we dont even know about it well.

There are two types of graphic card
  • Integrated graphic card
  • Dedicated graphic card
If the graphic card is integrated with the motherboard itself it is called integrated graphic card.
If we add a graphic card to a empty slot in the motherboard it is called dedicated graphic card which we call it as external graphic card.

When we buy a new computer we will be in a confusion to have an integrated or a dedicated graphic card.

Integrated graphic card is sufficient for those who use computer just for managing documents, making presentation and some games which does require low end graphics.

Dedicated graphic card is for the ones who are serious gamers and for those who edit videos and for multimedia purposes.

Integrated graphic card uses memory in the RAM which may slow down your computer but dedicated graphic card uses its own memory and leaves the memory in RAM for processes of operating system.

The only disadvantage with the dedicated graphic card is its too costly .It costs around 100$ if u want nvdia or ATI graphic card.

If u dont want to spend that much, here is an option of buying a new computer with motherboard which has capability to extend to dedicated graphic card.

Now I think you have clear cut information about graphic card ?
